Experience the Blackberry Torch

The Blackberry Bold Slider (9800) will be the first blackberry slider to hit the market, making it one of the most sought after cellular devices of 2010.

Advanced devices with a slide out keyboard are nothing new to the cell phone market, as companies like HTC, Palm, Nokia, and the like have both successfully and unsuccessfully released their fair share. However, Research In Motion had never released a Blackberry with a slide out keyboard. The Blackberry Bold Slider (9800) has been announced and will feature a slide out keyboard, which is something that Blackberry aficionados have been demanding for quite some time. The move by Research In Motion to release the Blackberry Bold Slider continues to demonstrate the company's uncanny ability to market a business-oriented product to the average consumer. It is this uncanny ability that has enabled Research In Motion to rise to the top among other cellular manufacturers.

The Blackberry Bold Slider is an absolutely incredible device. It features a portrait-oriented keyboard, making it very similar to the Palm Pre. The slide out keyboard is, of course, be full QWERTY. The Bold Slider runs Blackberry OS 6.0, offering, without a doubt, the best that Blackberry and Research In Motion have to offer. The screen has a 360x480 resolution, which makes it in line with its predecessors. Many would have liked a higher resolution screen, but OS 6.0, and the Slider keyboard make up for it.

Much to the liking of many, the Blackberry Bold Slider does support Wi-Fi 802.11n, which makes it possible to still have access to high speed Internet in low service areas with Wi-Fi. The Bold Slider is a GSM/HSPA device. Expect CDMA service providers to get their own variation in the latter half of 2010.
As for the physical appearance of the Blackberry Bold Slider, it is a bit thicker than the Blackberry Curve 8900.

However, that should be expected, considering it packs both a touch screen and a slide out keyboard. If you are a Blackberry owner, or have been eyeing your first Blackberry, then you should definitely consider the Blackberry Bold Slider. With its combination of a touch screen, and a slide out keyboard, it truly has something for everybody, making it a flagship device for Research In Motion and any cell phone service provider that is lucky enough to offer this device to its customers.
